My Detroit Wedding Changes

Eeek. I have to apologize. Life has been so busy lately and I’ve gotten a ton of emails from you all asking questions or asking where I’ve been! So Sorry! I’m getting back on my blogging track and have some changes planned for my post-wedding blog future!!

First, I have to tell you – Honestly, I have NO IDEA where time has gone. There seems like there’s a million things I want to do and I don’t have time for anything but work! Work as in my day job and work as in fixing-up and maintaining my humble abode. So, I’ve stayed away from this blog diggity and my social media obession (Facebook) for the last few weeks. It’s been a nice break, but now I’m ready to get to it!

What I’m going to do is finish up my Detroit vendor reviews and some other personal posts about my wedding. Then, comes Change.

The next phase of this here blog will focus on Metro Detroit wedding venues, vendors and other little helpful nuggets of info I can dig up for you Metro Married To Be’s! I love the hunt for for a good deal, talented vendors and cool places to have a Metro Detroit Wedding. (Me wants to beef up the Detroit Venue Guide and expand to Metro Detroit)

AND – I’d like to highlight real Metro Detroit brides. So, send me your pics! I’ll have submission guidelines and all that jazz to ensure good quality images.

Hook, line and sinker. Just toss me in the tank and watch me repeatedly hit the wall. Oh well, right? It’s kind of amusing, I’m sure. And, so it goes for now.

The wedding day will be amazing. Friends and family will celebrate. We will laugh, eat, dance and rejoice. The party will continue well into the night. We’ve got a a venue that never sleeps.

No doubt, it’ll be amazing.

Everything in my life is pretty incredible. My soon.2.be husband, our new house, my family, his family, our dog, our health and happiness. Admittedly so, we have it good.

I’ve been out of town the last couple days for worky-work, but I’m back in the saddle. And, I received a ton of emails and promise to respond soon!

Tomorrow is my bridal shower! And, tonight my best friend is coming to town. I can’t wait to have a glass of wine with her and feel sane! (You all know what I’m talking about.)

I’ll try to steal some time to blog soon. I have several updates of substance (no self pity or zilla monster updates).

Well, I’ve been working on invitations for the last couple weeks. And, I planned to adhere the masterpeice (the main invitation my friend Michelle brought to life) on a piece of gorgeous black linen cardstock.

So… in preparation to bust-a-move on these invites… I pre-cut the black linen cardstock during my lunch break last week Tuesday. Well tonight, while I was at Kinkos talking to them about the print job, I realized that I had cut the background piece about a 1/4 inch short. So. Basically. The invitation and the background are exactly the same length. If I could have reared my own ugly head and cut its throat, I would have!

What a waste of time cutting those things. A waste of money on paper. If I had voiced the obsenities going through my head I woulda been thrown in jail.

On the drive home all I could think of was:

GRRR… Snarl… SNAP.

And, that wasn’t the half of it. I’ll tell you about my print debacle tomorrow. Too bitter about the paper to divulge tonight.

Grrr. Snarl. Snap.

I’m tired. I’m bitter. It’s ugly.

In the last couple days, I emailed or called a couple vendors about what-have-you. And, they say they’ll get back to you within 24 hours, but theydon’t. Just wondering why they post or say the turnaround response time when it’s not so?

Not to be snarky or anything, but don’t mess with brides.2.be. Say what you mean. Decisions need to be made and I will move on if I don’t hear from you!

You know what I mean?

Grrr. What’s with my face these days? For 30-some years I’ve gone with minimal zits and this year my pores decide to explode.

I actually woke-up in the middle of the night wondering why my face hurt! Yeah, it’s one of those…

Doggy Sabotage

Some of you know that our dog Diesel is an eating machine. To date, he’s chewed-up my cell phone, my camera, 6 pairs of my shoes, 2 pairs of Bug’s shoes, 3 of Bug’s hats, an ungodly amount of underwear, a couple of my tank tops, several socks (which are his personal fav’s) and the leather couch. Thankfully, he’s still alive.

Well, when I got home today he chewed-up the Save this Date stamp that I was going to take back to Michaels. (I failed miserably at embossing.) AND he got into the save-the-date envelopes. One was chewed and the rest were scattered on the floor. They were on the desk, too, out of doggy site. Perhaps he’s bitter that he’s not invited to the wedding?

Can you imagine?

Today. My sinus headache I’ve had since yesterday morning turned into a migraine at work. I looked like a one-eyed pirate because I felt like my eyeball was going to explode out of its socket and splatter on my computer screen. Today. I had a little chat with my STD vendor. (Ummm, ahh hem, my save the date vendor.) There’s a huge space between the second 09 in the date. It’ll cost me $70 to have them reprinted. Grr to them and grr to me for not carefully reviewing the 800th proof. But, come on, spacing should be the vendors issue, right? Right now. My head still hurts and I’d like to ram it into the wall.

But, despite my turd-ish day. I’m happy. Spring starts tomorrow.
