I know I’ve been away. I’ve actually been on a new workout plan. It’s called the Miyagi workout from the movie The Karate Kid.
For the last four days, I’ve been working my abs, arms and thighs with Miyagi’s ”paint” workout. Remember when Miyagi tells Daniel to paint the fence? I’ve been painting my Great Room. Muding holes, sanding and painting. Painting the ceiling was a great ab workout. Ssrly, I may have to repaint every ceiling in the house. I’ll have washboard abs by the wedding! No joke. I asked Bug to bouce a quarter off them earlier. He was impressed.
Speaking of Bug, currently he’s busy cleaning up my mess. Which is why I’m blogging right now. I just tripped over something and spilt paint all over our white carpet. I wish I could say it was white paint, but it’s like a tawny brownish color. Not good.
Anyway, I plan to blog wedding love later.
Uh, Oh. I gotta go.

Hi there! I just found your site today. I’m also planning a Detroit wedding, but in August and on Belle Isle. I’ve found lots of wonderful “wedding elves” if you want to swap tips.

Hey Elisa- I’d love to hear more about these wedding elves. Do tell.
BTW – Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I love Belle Isle. We really wanted to get married there… but, it didn’t work out. I can’t wait to see pics. You must share.
Good luck and keep in touch!

We’re planning from afar (Madison, WI) so I’ve ended up having to hire far more elves than I wanted to…but I’m happy with what we have so far. It seems like the ceremony music is my last battle to contend with.
Photographer: http://www.greenholly.com This lady is fun and inexpensive. It’s a barebones package where she takes pics and does some minor corrections, but will do more and create albums if we want.
Food: Her name is Jessica and she works by word-of-mouth, as far as I can tell. All the food is vegetarian, local, and amazing. I should probably ask her if she has a website, but if anyone is looking for a veg caterer, I can make some introductions. She also has linens and place settings for rent to avoid a big pile o’ trash.
Flowers: Lisa at http://www.potandbox.com. She’s been a delight to work with, and I’ve found her prices to be very reasonable.
Musicians: A violinist and a harp player that make me want to scream
Hopefully that will work out to everyone’s satisfaction.
My dress came from Macy’s, where I worked with Tracy. She is wonderful, and we found My Dress in about an hour. This, of course, was after I had visited a nice place in Madison twice and thought I had settled on a dress from a thrift shop for $8.50.
