For the last 15 months I’ve been on a roll. (Rolls, I love those too.) During this time, I have not said no to any cake, cookie or cupcake that was offered to me. Some were worth the calories and other were not.
But, I think my cake-eating rampage is over. At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, I OD’ed on cake and buttercream frosting. On Friday I suffered from all kinds of burning senstations in my belly for most of the day. I’ve never experienced side effects for that long before.
Story is, Bug and I had our first cake tasting appointment. We tasted 9 different cakes and 7 different fillings. And, I have to say, the buttercream frosting may be the best I’ve ever had. (It may be better than the Townsend Bakery. Maybe.) The frosting itself was my gateway drug. Mmm. So good.
All the cake was perfectly moist and had just the right consistency. At one point, I put my fork down and ate with my hands. (I’m sure it wasn’t the most lady like scene.) I was a monster. It was delicious, but exhausting.
And I wonder why it’s hard to tone up my back side these days.
Me Know. Me Have Problem.

I love cookies and cakes too. Buttercream frosting is just divine! Have you ever tried gooey butter cookies? They’re so much better than any gooey butter cake, believe me. They just melt in your mouth like sweet dreams
I think either they or Samoas (yes, the Girl Scout kind) are my favorite cookies ever. And I don’t even want to get started on cakes…I’m hungry already!

where was your cake tasting? we fell in loooooooove with a cake made by elite sweets, but we had a HORRIBLE customer service episode with them, so we ended up going with a different bakery and having them recreate elite sweets’ delish cake. i mean…cake tasting is.just.fabulous. isn’t it?

Ssshh…don’t tell anyone, but um, well…basically (cringing), since this weekend’s bridal shower cake (from my sister’s shower I hosted) and her birthday the following day, we’ve had enough leftover cake to feed my rediculous cravings every night.
Yes, it’s true – I’ve had chocolate cake with yummy frosting every single night for the past 4 days!!! AAAHHH!!!! I don’t know what’s wrong with me!!! lol
I too, am supposed to be eating healthier – since I’ve got her wedding to go to that I’m standing up in a month. Here’s the deal – I’m 30, not 21. I’ve earned my “womanly” body and while I’m content with my body shape and size, it’s not what makes me fit into the clothes I used to once love (and that hang in my closet!). So I’d love to lose 10-15 pounds.
I know I can do it, I know I will do it – it’s just the getting motivated part that’s hard – why is it so hard?! lol Whatever – we’ve gotta treat ourselves to cake splurges every once in a while, right?
As for the cookie monster…that’s another story. Cookies make me happy too…in fact, one of my favorite songs is, “C is for cookie, it’s good enough for me…cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C…” – HA HA HA!
I’m such a dork sometimes.
Cheers to cake!
