Nope. I’m no good at embossing. This craft is going to take some time to master… As you can see, overall, it looks messy. And I think my ladybug was teetering into the land of the cheesy. See below. <blush> So, I think I’ll be sticking to the “Save this Date” in the vintage border idea.
Mood: Super excited and ambitious

I got three stamps to play with…
After several attempts, this was the best I got.
Mood: Discouraged

Ok, I like the Bug. But, not for the std envelope. Looks cheesy. But, may incorporate it elsewhere.
Mood: Feeling like a dork about the bug…
All I need is some time to perfect this craft! I want to be proud… but today’s not that day!

Ans
ITA on the ladybug… she’ll be useful at another point in time.
As for the embossing in general the StD doesn’t look bad at all. It just looks like your stamp wasn’t wet enuff. A few tips that may help you.
1) Rock the stamp on the embossing pad, back and forth a few times to ensure that it’s covered. I stamp a few times so each one gets a bit of dry time. Not much, but it’ll stay wet for longer than u think. It kinda helps the tackiness factor, imo.
2) Sprinkle the powder on and don’t be shy, you’re recycling it the whole time. Again, I do several pieces at a time, so I cover all of them (I’m making shower invites for my bff), then go back in order and shake off the extra.
3) Thump the back of the envelope well help dislodge add’l “loose” pwd.
4) Take a paintbrush and remove all of the powder that’s sticking to places where it doesn’t belong. The bristles will move it w/ease.
The heating tool… move it evenly back and forth, as soon as u see the pwd get shiny and start to move, you’re done. Don’t go further.
You may want to try a clear pad, or layer effects w/different powders, etc. I’ve purchased powder colors that I just REALLY didn’t like on paper. So try a few different combos.
Good Luck! Great Blog!
