It’ll come as no shock that my mom came across this wonderful idea on One Love Photo’s photography blog. I think it’s a beautiful idea and wanted to share.
This bride and groom literally paraded with their guests from their ceremony site to their reception site. They even had a high school marching band to boot!

My Detroit Wedding Note: Besides the fact that Bug and I aren’t a parade kind a couple… between you and me, I don’t think the Detroit nay-sayers (yeah, I have a couple of those in the fam) would like parading from the Masonic Temple to Greektown Casino Hotel.
But, what a cute idea!

hey lady! I love the idea of a wedding parade! Actually, in New Orleans it is more of a actual custom. ‘They say’ (whoever ‘they’ are) that you can have a Jazz Wedding or a Jazz Funeral – either way, after the services, a parade ensues to the location of the party – aka reception or wake. But this is much easier walked in the French Quarter, where churches and reception sites are much closer together!

That’s awesome! I never heard of that… Interesting. It would be cool if the ceremony and reception were both in Greektown. Thanks Lindsay- now I want to peruse for more pics!

I REALLY love the idea of a LOVE PARADE!!! I have always got all misty eyed when you kids were in parades…so when I came across this fabulous blog that had a love parade between the church and the hall…WELL!!!! I just had to share with you. They even had a Marching Band…you know I LOVE marching bands!!! I guess I got carried away when I suggested being escorted by the mounted police….you know…..having to walk around all those “land mines”!!!!!!!
