Good-bye 2008.  Hello 2009!  Overall, 2008 was a great year.  My engagement trumped the fact I turned 30 and that I started a new (and great) job (with great people)!  I became closer to two amazing women who are now my closest friends.  And, my old best friend (who’s also my Maid of Honor) and are I closer than we’ve been in years!  Friendship is paramount!

But I have to tell you, 2008 was a very lazy year for me.  I think I spent more time in front of the computer and tv screen than ever before, which I’m pretty sure has a direct correlation to the fact that I’ve gained weight and flab!  This year, I’ve decided to get away from the screens and get back to reading, running, biking, kayaking and anything else that gets me outdoors or away from the mindless tubes!   I’m also going to work on being more patient – which is not my strong suit!

But, what I’d most like to most focus on is NOT my wedding, but my fiance and my friends and family.  I don’t want to lose sight of the little things in life… the simple things.  Like calling my brother in Napa or meeting a friend for coffee instead of a phone call.  Often times I find myself in a frenzy because I feel as if someone pressed my fast forward button - but, I’m recalibrating!  It’s time to take things one step at a time.  I think I’ll find myself much happier!

2009 should be an exciting year!  I’m marrying an incredible man!  I hope all of you have a great year!
